Tips for becoming an Active Reader:
Preview the passage and make predictions about it.
Connect the passage to your own knowledge and experiences.
Identify the genre of the passage.
Determine your purpose for reading.
Take notes as you read.
Adjust your reading speed to suit your purpose.
